In college, I realized I thoroughly enjoyed writing and and public speaking. In my concerts, I often address the audience to give background on the pieces we are performing, and I've also given a number of conference and convention presentations.
I enjoy reading someone's writing and helping them find new ways of expressing their point. I want those I work with to sound intelligent, but also personable in their written style. I have proofread everything from cover letters to grant applications to doctoral theses. No matter the subject, the way we write, and the way we speak, is universal, and I'm here to help you be the most effective in those styles of communication.
I've taught a number of college courses while a graduate student, from music history to theory to practical conducting and private lessons. I'm used to working one on one with students, both in person and online. I have a number of years as a private music instructor, and became increasingly proficient in online teaching during the pandemic. I'm happy to meet with you wherever you feel most comfortable!
