Hiello I’m Tasfia, a third-year Computer and Electrical Engineering student at the University of Virginia. I’ve been tutoring for over four years and have worked with students of all ages, from kindergarteners just learning to count, to college students taking advanced math. I started out in high school through the Math Honor Society, where I helped classmates with Algebra, Pre-Calculus, and AP Calculus AB. After that, I worked at Kumon for almost two years, supporting K–12 students in both math and reading.
Right now, I’m a Teaching Assistant for an Ordinary Differential Equations class at UVA. I help college students during office hours and in class, answering questions and breaking down complex topics. I also tutor students for the SAT, especially the math section. I focus on building strong foundations, practicing problem-solving strategies, and helping students feel confident and prepared for test day.
I specialize in Algebra 1 & 2, Calculus 1 & 2, Differential Equations, and SAT prep. I’m patient, approachable, and always try to explain things in a way that actually makes sense. I adjust how I teach based on what each student needs, and I make sure every session is supportive, focused, and tailored to their goals.
