I grew up homeschooled under a very dedicated mother and earned a double major in education & history from Liberty University in 2013. In 2015 subsequently earned my Masters of Arts in Teaching in Elementary Education, with an endorsement in history and Social Sciences, also from Liberty University. I furthered my education and passion for history by earning a second MA in History from Liberty in 2020. Although I have tutored a diverse range of students and ages, from K-adult in music and academic subjects, I also have been enjoying full-time teaching grades K-2 for the past 10 years in various schools in Virginia and Vermont. Additionally, I taught part-time online lessons to Chinese students via VIPKID. Whether it is online or in-person, teaching is my passion, and I strive to make lessons hands-on, highly engaging, and encouraging!

In addition to offering academic tutoring in all subjects K-6th and Middle, High School, and adult reading, writing (including grammar & spelling), and history tutoring, I also teach beginner to advanced piano and the Irish penny whistle/tin whistle lessons. Making music not only enriches one's soul but is a life-long gift to share with others! Whether you choose music or academic lessons, you will still be learning a lot of songs and having a blast! I have found that music is one of the best ways to make learning fun and memorable. If you can sing about it, you will remember it, guaranteed!

I graduated Summa Cum Laude, with a B.S. in history and education. I earned a MA in history in 2020, graduating with high distinction, specializing in American pre-Colonial, Colonial, antebellum, Civil War, and Black history. I have studied, researched, and written academic coursework pertaining to the contributions of Black ministers, scientists, and political leaders throughout America's history, particularly the significant role Black soldiers played in helping the Union to win the Civil War. For all of my coursework, I earned nothing less than straight A's and tutored other graduate students in US history. I can offer valuable services regarding study habits, memorization techniques, test-taking strategies, and effective research and writing skills.

I completed the equivalency of a minor in Biblical coursework, including Old and New Testament, the gospels, comparing world religions, apologetics, and hermeneutics. As a successful homeschool graduate and holding- three university degrees, I have devoted more than 10 years to learning and teaching students in a wide range of subjects. Reading, phonics, spelling, grammar, writing, elementary math, piano, Bible, and all areas of history have been my areas of expertise, and I have experience teaching from many of the top homeschool curriculums. I understand the need for homeschoolers to have teaching that is tailored specifically to them and to provide challenges to excel beyond the common expectations of peers in public education.

I have completed undergraduate coursework in piano performance, pedagogy, hymn playing, hymn improvisation, and music theory. I have served as a church pianist in multiple churches, being responsible for the morning and evening accompaniment, special music, and offertories. Additionally, I have taught private piano lessons to many students, ages 5 to 55, over the past 20 years. I especially enjoy helping pianists discover the creative freedom and personal fulfilment of improvising and arranging hymns, progressing from beginning to advanced techniques.
