Hello! I am a high school special education teacher with experience supporting students in grades 8–12, particularly those with ADHD, executive functioning challenges, and difficulties in reading and writing. I hold a master’s degree in Marine Science and have a strong background in biology and ecology, along with a passion for English, grammar, and written expression. In my current role, I work with students in both classroom and one-on-one settings, helping them better understand material, stay organized, and build confidence in their academic abilities.
My approach to tutoring is practical and focused on real results. I help students improve reading comprehension, strengthen writing skills, and develop study habits that actually work. Many of the students I support feel overwhelmed or struggle with getting started, so I focus on breaking assignments into manageable steps, building organization and time management skills, and creating clear systems they can use independently. I also enjoy helping students think more deeply about what they’re learning, which supports stronger writing and critical thinking.
I have worked with a wide range of learners, including students who need extra structure, encouragement, or a different approach to learning. My goal is to create a supportive, low-pressure environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes while building skills over time. I believe that with the right strategies and guidance, every student can make meaningful progress and feel more confident in school.
