I'm Shivani, a fourth-year medical student at the UVA School of Medicine with a background built for helping students succeed on high-stakes exams. I graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University's Honors College with a dual degree in Biology and Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies, scored in the 95th percentile on the MCAT (2022), and recently completed both Step 1 and Step 2 (2026) which gave me firsthand, up-to-date experience with the newest exam formats and content.

My teaching background spans a wide range of levels and subjects. As a supplemental instructor and TA in college, I taught biochemistry, statistics, organic chemistry, evolution, and biology, and I've also privately tutored prealgebra. Through these experiences, I've learned how to adapt my teaching style to fit each individual student, whether I'm working with a middle schooler building foundational math and science skills or a college student tackling advanced coursework. I focus on self-directed learning strategies and interactive teaching tools that help students not just memorize material, but truly understand it and gain confidence in how they approach test-taking.
I tutor: MCAT: Psychology/Sociology, Biology, and CARS, USMLE Step 1 and Step 2, SAT (any section), and High school STEM courses.
I know how overwhelming exam prep can feel, and I'm passionate about helping students build both the skills and the confidence they need to master the content.
