Hello! I’m Zach, and I’m offering private tutoring sessions in-person and online. I specialize in math for high school, early college students, and adults: SAT, ACT, AP, DE, or any high school/early college level courses.
I always love learning, so I am always developing and ready to listen to new ideas that my students may have. I know from experience that there are countless ways to tackle a math problem and just as many approaches to understanding concepts. That's why my philosophy is to listen first, then guide you down your own thought process until you understand the content. That is what I've found to be the best and most fun way to learn and teach. So, expect me to guide you with leading questions rather than answers as we work together towards your lightbulb moment. I try to break down big and complicated questions with smaller, and more familiar questions, and I only step in when you are really stuck. My students at community college found this method both engaging and successful, and I hope to share that with as many people as possible.
I am a rising fourth-year college student studying Economics and Statistics at a top 50 US university with a 3.9 cumulative GPA. I graduated magna cum laude at my former community college where I was a peer tutor. I helped many of my peers through STEM subjects such as Calculus, Statistics, and Physics. This was a highly dynamic position where I learned to jump between subjects and tackle the root of misunderstandings no matter what level the students are at. I can help with most 1st–3rd year economics courses such as micro- and macroeconomics, econometrics, etc; as well as statistics courses such as principles, foundations, and intro coding with R. I took many AP classes in high school where I received 5’s in Calc BC and AB, Physics C Mechanics, US history, and US government. These along with others earned me the AP Scholar Distinction Award for both my junior and senior years. Thus, I have a lot of experience with AP courses—so please ask about any course!
