Hello! My name is Lucie, and I’m passionate about helping students succeed in science and math. I graduated with a B.A. in Biology from the University of Virginia in just three years (GPA 3.91) and am currently a medical student at UVA School of Medicine. I’ve worked as a biochemistry teaching assistant, where I held weekly office hours, reviewed material, and graded assignments. I also have international teaching experience, having taught English, math, and science in Tanzania to students ages 2–9. In addition, I’ve trained and mentored new EMTs in my role as a crew leader at my volunteer fire station.
I specialize in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, and math (through algebra and pre-calculus). My teaching style is student-centered and adaptable: I focus on breaking down complex topics into clear, step-by-step explanations and tailoring lessons to each student’s learning style. I believe in asking guiding questions that build confidence and encourage independent problem-solving, while still providing plenty of support and practice.
Tutoring policies: I offer a free 15-minute consultation so we can get to know each other, review goals, and decide if I’m the right fit.
I’m excited to help you build confidence in your studies and achieve your academic goals. Please feel free to reach out — I’d love to schedule a lesson with you!
