Hi! My name is Anjali, and I am currently a Cognitive Science and Economics student at the University of Virginia. Although I am a Pre-Med student, I have always had a deep love for mathematics and enjoy sharing that passion with others.
I began tutoring several years ago by founding my own tutoring company, where I taught Algebra I, Physics, and SAT Math+English preparation in both one-on-one and classroom-style settings. Over time, I worked with more than 50 students and also managed a team of tutors who collectively worked with over 140 students, which gave me valuable experience in curriculum design, lesson planning, and adapting instruction to fit different learning styles. My students ranged from middle schoolers starting Algebra to high school juniors preparing for the SAT, so I have developed a flexible approach that meets students where they are.
In my sessions, I emphasize clarity, patience, and active engagement. I believe students learn best when material is broken down into manageable steps, reinforced with practice, and connected to their own goals. Whether the objective is to improve classroom grades in Algebra or to boost SAT scores, I focus on building confidence as well as competence, so students leave sessions feeling capable and motivated.
