I graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Special Education and Elementary Education. After working for two years in a class for orthopedically impaired students, I went to graduate school where I earned my Master's Degree in Special Education. After working 3 years with high school students with learning and emotional disabilities, I left the United States to work for the Department of Defense Schools. I taught junior and senior high schools students with a variety of disabilities in Bermuda, I moved to Germany to become a Behavior Management Specialist, first as an itinerant to 5 schools, and then to teach students with emotional disabilities at the middle school level. After returning to the US, I taught for 7 years in a fully collaborative middle school environment. After that, I worked in central office and school administration for 13 years before returning to the classroom. I spent 8 years teaching high school students with autism or severe intellectual disabilities before retiring in 2019.
Throughout my teaching career, I tutored students at various levels from teaching English in Germany to algebra and also study skills. While teaching in the collaborative middle school, i also provided one-on-one and small group tutoring to assist students with their academic and organizational skills.
I am a strong advocate for students with special needs and support for their families. I am flexible with my schedule and will work hard to schedule a time and program for all students.
