Hello, I am Chiwon.
I am a certified Korean teacher with over 10 years of experience helping learners of all ages develop strong Korean language skills. I hold a Master’s degree in Korean Education for Foreigners, a Bachelor’s degree in Korean Language and Literature, an official teaching certification from the Korean government, and a Virginia Teacher Provisional License in World Language: Korean.

I have taught students in both Korea and the United States, from complete beginners to advanced learners preparing for TOPIK or using Korean for academic and professional purposes. I specialize in breaking down complex concepts into clear, manageable steps while creating a supportive and motivating learning environment tailored to each student’s goals.

I offer structured lessons that build grammar, reading, listening, and speaking skills, as well as conversation-focused lessons that emphasize fluency and pronunciation. Depending on your comfort level, lessons can be taught with more English support or in a more immersive Korean environment.

As a lifelong learner of English and a parent of a bilingual teenager, I understand the challenges of language learning and strive to help students gain confidence and communicate naturally in Korean.
