I have a masters in Management and Systems and has tutored high school and middle school students in the areas of math and computer science, particularly in the SAT, ACT and TJ preparation.
I have been involved in tutoring kids for Algebra, pre-algebra, Algera-2, Pre-calculus, calculus, I have also been involved with SAT, ACT and TJ preparation and have helped many kids including my own to get into the Thomas Jefferson High school.
In addition, I am well versed in Linear Programming and optimization techniques using the graphical method and Excel's Solver. I have taught many GMU and NOVa students with their Operational research classes.
What most kids need to get a good grasp of the basic concepts. Once they get that, they will themselves see that Math is so logical that everything falls in place and they get more and more comfortable with it. During the first meeting, that is also something that I try to assess myself and then put together a plan of action for the next few weeks.
I have successfully tutored students in all levels from 5th grade math through Honors Pre-Calculus. Most of my students saw their grades improve from F's to C's or from C's to A's.
I have numerous ways to break down the skills students need to be
successful in their math classes, and I know the types of questions teachers like to ask on assessments. I have Flexible hours and locations and I can meet at your home, or a local library or coffee shop.
I tutor most math courses from middle school through high school including: Middle School Math,
Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Trigonometry, Precalculus, TJ and SAT Prep.

My son needed help with AP Calculus and Suresh was an awesome find for us. He was able to break things down to simple pieces and address the problems. He showed great knowledge and patience.
My son needed help preparing for Pre-calculus/Trig Honors. Suresh did an excellent job assessing where my son was at and putting together a plan to get him prepared. It is obvious that Suresh knows his subject area. He's very caring and wants to help kids learn.
Thank you, Suresh!
Very communicative with us and student and helpful!
Set up meetings on student schedule and did follow up communication with parents. Really assisted our son in final portion of AP Calc. Gave him the confidence that he knew what he was doing.
Great tutor -- knowledgeable and patient, can explain so that you can understand. After just one session with Suresh, my son feels more comfortable with Geometry and I see his confidence level building. Thankful we found Suresh!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
