Hi, I’m Justin!
Throughout my time as a student, I have developed a deep commitment to excellence and understanding. After graduating high school with honors, I transitioned to Northern Virginia Community College (NVCC) to study engineering. Throughout my time here, I have maintained a 3.6 GPA and earned a spot on the Dean’s List every semester. I am currently in my final term before moving on to Virginia Tech to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. My time at NVCC has allowed me to gain a deep understanding of mathematics, including Algebra, Trigonometry, and Advanced Calculus. I use this understanding daily to guide students through even the most challenging coursework.
For the past year, I have served as a tutor at the NVCC Math Center, where I have the privilege of working with a diverse range of learners, from 16-year-old high schoolers to adult learners aged 75 and older. I specialize in a one-on-one tutoring style because it allows me to build a genuine connection with my students and meet them exactly where they are in their learning process. My approach is centered on "Building from the ground up." I place a heavy emphasis on mastering fundamental concepts before we tackle complex applications. By ensuring the foundation is rock-solid, I help my students gain the confidence they need to succeed independently, whether they are in a traditional classroom setting or returning to education after years away.
