I started my professional journey at a start-up developing machine learning pipelines for diverse clients. Currently, I'm with Navy Federal Credit Union's data science team within the fraud analytics department. Here, I developed a real-time check deposit fraud detection model, a highlight of my career.
My technical expertise encompasses several data science areas including supervised machine learning, classification, feature engineering and selection, data cleaning, and visualization. I'm proficient in tree-based algorithms like xgboost and random forest, and clustering techniques.
Regarding tools, I specialize in Python and PySpark, but I'm also comfortable with SQL and R based on task requirements.
As a former teaching assistant, I have the experience to simplify complex concepts. My teaching philosophy centers around personalization and active learning. I provide a hands-on approach that goes beyond basics, focusing on students' current projects.
