When I was a little kid, I couldn't wait to play "school" with my dolls. I would go to my mom's job and make copies and everything. So it was not surprising that I ended up becoming a teacher. I taught all levels of high school Math for 12 years in New York before I found the love of my life and moved to the DMV to be with him. When I was a little kid, I couldn't wait to play "school" with my dolls. I would go to my mom's job and make copies and everything. So it was not surprising that I ended up becoming a teacher. I taught all levels of high school Math for 12 years in New York before I found the love of my life and moved to the DMV to be with him. I had so many exciting experiences teaching in Brooklyn, Queens and currently the notorious TC Williams high school. I am friendly, patient, knowledgeable and fun-loving.

I am passionate about Math. There are so many ways to make Math fun and applicable in real life and this is something that I do well. Because of my teaching experience, I have a lot of patience. If a person doesn't get it the first time, I have so many other ways of explaining it, from manipulatives to pictures to demonstrations. I am good at making complicated concepts easy and allowing students to contribute in the learning process.

I was a Math major in college and graduated cum laude. I have taught Algebra, Geometry, Algebra2 and Trigonometry in New York and Virginia. I did a lot of private Math tutoring while I was in NY. All of my tuttee's grades increased by 40% or more. Myself and another teacher started a Math club at our school for middle school students. It let students know how fun and applicable to real life that Math can be.

First tutoring session was great!

Ms. Rashida tutored my 2 children yesterday (ages 12 and 14) and I can't believe with just one session they both learned a lot. We will see her again next week!
