Hello. I have helped many students from all over the USA from Middle School to College/Engineering School succeed in Math and Computer Science. I am qualified to tutor in Java plus 10 mathematics subjects, including Pre-algebra, Pre-calculus, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Linear Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, SAT Math, ACT Math and Calculus (including AP and College Calculus). I am currently focusing on Math and Computer Science for High School, College, and Adults.

Mathematics and Computer Science:
I have a Ph.D. and a Master's in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia, and a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Cairo University, Egypt. My professional experience is in engineering and in teaching in public and private high schools and university-level teaching in mathematics, computer and information systems, and engineering. I studied, taught and tutored many courses in mathematics, and computer science.

My Mathematics and Computer Science lessons are custom-tailored for the student's learning style and specific needs, but they typically include review of concepts to make sure the student understands them, discussion of problem solving techniques, solving practice problems, test taking strategies, testing and assessment, and quality control techniques to make sure answers are correct. My goal is to enable my students to understand and solve problems independently and to have the confidence that the solution is correct. I help Computer Science students write code for assignments and projects and prepare for tests.
I have helped college students in Python and Java and high school students taking AP Computer Science classes.

My goal is to foster understanding, and success in mathematics and computer science. Contact me if you have any questions.

ACT Math

ACT Math

I tutored both my children in mathematics all the way from Elementary School to High School and helped them prepare for SAT, ACT and AP exams. My son scored very high on the ACT, obtaining a grade of 34 in the math section and 34 total score. My approach is to help my students understand the principles and learn the style of questions presented in the ACT, as well as learn test taking strategies that increase their speed while ensuring that their solutions are correct. I get my students to take many timed sample tests to increase their ability to answer the questions correctly and as fast as possible.
Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I am fully qualified to teach algebra 1. I have extensive experience as an engineer in the satellite communications industry where I used a lot of mathematics. I have a Bachelor's and Master's degrees in electronics and communications engineering from Cairo University, Egypt and a Master's and PhD in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville. I also tutored both my children in algebra, geometry and calculus. I also helped them prepare for the SAT and ACT exams and they achieved high scores in SAT and went to Harvard University.

Calculus

Calculus

I have a Bachelors and Masters degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Cairo University, Egypt, and a Master's and PhD in Systems Engineering from the University of Virgina. While studying for all these degrees I took many advance math courses including calculus and differential equations. Electrical Engineering makes a lot of use of differential equations and hence I had excellent education in calculus. I then taught in the Electronics and Computer Engineering department at George Mason University. The course I used involved using calculus and differential equations and that deepened my understanding of these subjects. I am also proud that I tutored both my children in Calculus. They got high grades in the AP exam and went to their top school, Harvard University. My approach is to custom-tailor my lessons for the needs of the student. I am a patient tutor who can explain things in many different ways to fit the learning style of each student. My goal is to enable the student to understand the principles, solve problems correctly and quickly, to develop quality control mechanisms, and ultimately to like calculus based on an understanding of how powerful and useful it is.

Hany makes learning java programming easy to understand the lesson

I felt better about the java code in working with it after my tutor session with Hany. He explained the concept and terms and broke each section down in an easier to understand fashion. I began to understand how to set up the program in order for it to work. Afterwards, I practiced what we worked on for code and began understanding the concepts and how they apply to building java code. Thank you Hany. I recommend Hany to anyone struggling to learn Java programming.

Very attentive to the differences in my boys and their different tutoring needs.

Hany has been a wonderful tutor in the three weeks since we started with tutoring for the SAT math portion. The boys' scores have already significantly improved, and he is focusing on areas where they need improvement. I am very thankful that we found Hany! Thank you Hany, for putting us on the right track. I feel confident that the boys now have a solid foundation in SAT math, and will realize their potential on November 8th!

Great tutor but unreliable

Hany E. is a very competent tutor. However, he informed us on very short notice that he cannot continue tutoring because of his busy schedule. He could have provided us with a few days advance notice so we can look for another tutor!! That was inconsiderate.

Tutor responded:

I am very sorry for this but back in 2014 I had a serious health issue and I had to stop tutoring altogether. I could not continue tutoring at that time while I was sick. I have been teaching in public and private schools and universities for many years and I am 100% reliable. The success of my students is my evidence.
