Hi there! I am Danny. And a I am passionate about teaching! I have spent the past twenty years teaching Math and Physics courses at a public high school in Virginia. As these courses are the bedrock of so many fields of expertise and further study at the collegiate level, I know that it is essential for students to be well-grounded in these subjects. Therefore, I have dedicated my career to developing methods that are effective at training students how to "think" like a mathematician or physicist. It is such a joy for me to watch academic frustration melt away!

After minoring in Mathematics in college, I spent the next twenty years teaching high school Algebra and Geometry courses. Over the years, I have taught over 1,000 students. I have witnessed many kids transform from "math-fearers" to "math-fans"! Year after year, my students have been highly successful on the End-Of-Course tests administered by the state. It is a thrill for me to teach students how to think mathematically so that math actually makes sense and is not simply a method of "getting the right answers."

As for physics, I fell in the love with "the granddaddy of all science" when I was a high school student. I attended James Madison University on a physics scholarship and graduated with a B.S. in Physics four years later, having been awarded the "Outstanding Junior Physics Major" and "Outstanding Senior Physics Major" awards by the Physics Department. Although I had the knowledge base and skillset to continue my study of physics at the graduate level, I realized that my passion and joy was sharing physics with others. This is what drove me into teaching full-time, eventually obtaining my Masters in Physics Education along the way. I am fully aware that physics can be an intimidating and confusing subject. Therefore, I make it my goal to teach students how to think like a physicist, changing "intimidation" into fascination and "confusion" into wonder!

As an intermediate guitarist, I still have much to learn about the guitar myself.

PHYSICS WHIZ of a Tutor!!! A+ Final Grade in Physics. Not enough Superlatives to describe Danny As a Tutor!

Danny is an amazing physics tutor. Breaks down problems and concepts in understandable way that student just gets it. Simplifies concepts so you can do it on your own. Great at teaching fundamentals. From physics fears and apprehension to A+ as a final grade in Physics 1 & then again in Physics 2. He teaches the concepts and then tests your understanding of the concepts so you’ll be able to do any of the problems thrown at you on a test. He actually makes it fun and the more he explains the concepts, the more confident you are in doing the problems by yourself. Highly recommend Danny as a tutor. Have had weekly sessions with Danny for over a year. If you’re struggling definitely worth it to engage Danny as your tutor and see major improvement in your grade and understanding of physics.

Amazing Tutor

Danny was my son's tutor for AP Physics and did an incredible job of improving my child's understanding of the subject as well as his confidence in the class. He was helpful, engaging, and flexible around our schedule. My son is currently on the cusp of earning an A for the quarter, which is quite the turnaround from a shaky start. I could not recommend Danny more highly!

Knowledgeable and helpful to my daughter

Danny took the time to explain orbit and projectiles to my daughter for her upcoming quiz and helped her understand what each item was. She had no idea what it was going into the tutoring session and he broke it down to make it helpful for her in order for her to grasp the subject. Highly recommend Danny.
