Hi, I’m Hajar, a Mechanical Engineering student at Virginia Tech, and I’ve been tutoring for over 3 years. I started in my second semester, helping fellow undergraduates, and later worked at the university’s Tutoring Center, providing both walk-in and one-on-one support.
As a walk-in tutor, I managed groups of 7–15 students, learning to quickly address questions and provide effective solutions. In one-on-one sessions, I focused on tailoring study strategies to each student’s learning style, helping them improve not just in their specific courses but also in their overall study habits.
I’ve tutored a wide range of subjects, from Algebra and Differential Equations to College Physics and Chemistry, and I’m also multilingual, offering tutoring and translation in French and Arabic. For me, tutoring is about empowering students with the skills and confidence to succeed long after our sessions end.
