Hi! I'm a freshman at Virginia Tech studying Architecture, and I've always loved math. I enjoy solving challenging problems, but even more, I enjoy helping others understand concepts that once seemed confusing.

I graduated from a Governor's STEM high school with a 4.7 GPA, where I completed a rigorous math curriculum. I earned a 5 on both the AP Calculus BC and AP Statistics exams, completed AP Calculus BC during my junior year, and took Linear Algebra during my senior year because I wanted to continue challenging myself.

Throughout high school, I regularly tutored classmates and also worked as a freelance math tutor outside of school. I tutor middle school and high school math, including Pre-Algebra, Algebra I & II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Precalculus, Calculus, and Statistics. Whether you're preparing for an upcoming exam, working through homework, or aiming for a higher grade, I'll create lessons tailored to your individual goals and pace.

Because I completed these courses recently, I understand the topics from a student's perspective and know the common mistakes and challenges that come up. My goal is to make math less intimidating and help students gain confidence. I look forward to helping you reach your math goals!

Approved Subjects

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I have experience tutoring both classmates and freelance students in Algebra I, helping them understand Algebra I concepts such as solving equations, graphing functions, systems of equations, exponents, polynomials, and factoring. My teaching style emphasizes building a strong conceptual foundation so students gain confidence and can apply what they learn to more advanced math courses.
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

Algebra II builds on the foundations of Algebra I and introduces more advanced topics that prepare students for Precalculus, Calculus, and standardized tests like the SAT and ACT. With a strong background in advanced mathematics, including earning a 5 on both the AP Calculus BC and AP Statistics exams and completing Linear Algebra in high school, I am well-equipped to help students master these concepts.
Calculus

Calculus

I have a strong foundation in calculus, earning a 5 on the AP Calculus BC exam after completing the course as a junior in high school. I continued studying advanced mathematics by taking Linear Algebra during my senior year and earned a 5 on the AP Statistics exam. I graduated from a Governor's STEM program with a 4.7 GPA and am currently studying Architecture at Virginia Tech. My goal is to help students develop a deep understanding of calculus concepts so they can approach complex problems with confidence rather than relying on memorization.
Elementary Math

Elementary Math

I graduated from a Governor's STEM program with a 4.7 GPA and earned a 5 on both the AP Calculus BC and AP Statistics exams before continuing my math studies with Linear Algebra. I am currently studying Architecture at Virginia Tech and have experience tutoring both classmates and freelance students with a variety of math subjects. I can help students strengthen their skills in addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, percentages, basic geometry, word problems, and introductory pre-algebra concepts. My lessons are patient, encouraging, and tailored to young students, with a focus on building confidence for future math classes.
Geometry

Geometry

Geometry is not about memorizing formulas, it's more about developing logical reasoning and problem-solving skills. I help students understand the relationships between shapes, angles, and proofs through clear explanations and step-by-step instruction. I graduated from a Governor's STEM program with a 4.7 GPA and earned a 5 on both the AP Calculus BC and AP Statistics exams before completing Linear Algebra in high school. I am currently studying Architecture at Virginia Tech, where spatial reasoning and geometry play an important role in my coursework.
Prealgebra

Prealgebra

Pre-Algebra is the foundation for success in Algebra and higher-level math. I help students develop confidence by ensuring they understand the core concepts rather than simply memorizing procedures. I graduated from a Governor's STEM program with a 4.7 GPA and earned a 5 on both the AP Calculus BC and AP Statistics exams before continuing my math education with Linear Algebra. I am currently studying Architecture at Virginia Tech and have experience tutoring both classmates and freelance students in a variety of math subjects.
Precalculus

Precalculus

Precalculus is the bridge between Algebra II and Calculus, making it one of the most important courses for students pursuing advanced math. I help students build a strong understanding of key concepts so they feel confident and prepared for calculus. I earned a 5 on the AP Calculus BC exam after completing the course as a junior in high school, followed by a 5 on the AP Statistics exam and a course in Linear Algebra during my senior year. I graduated from a Governor's STEM program with a 4.7 GPA and am currently studying Architecture at Virginia Tech.
SAT Math

SAT Math

I earned a perfect score on both the SAT Math section and the PSAT Math section, giving me firsthand knowledge of the concepts, strategies, and problem-solving techniques needed to excel on these exams. In addition, I earned a 5 on both the AP Calculus BC and AP Statistics exams and completed Linear Algebra in high school after graduating from a Governor's STEM program with a 4.7 GPA. I am currently studying Architecture at Virginia Tech. I have experience tutoring both classmates and freelance students, helping them strengthen their mathematical understanding while improving their test-taking skills. I can help students master every SAT Math topic, including algebra, advanced math, problem solving and data analysis, geometry, and trigonometry.
Statistics

Statistics

I earned a 5 on the AP Statistics exam, demonstrating a strong understanding of statistical concepts, data analysis, probability, and inference. I also earned a 5 on the AP Calculus BC exam, completed Linear Algebra in high school, and graduated from a Governor's STEM program with a 4.7 GPA. I am currently studying Architecture at Virginia Tech, where I continue to apply mathematical and analytical thinking. I have experience tutoring both classmates and freelance students, helping them build confidence and develop a deeper understanding of statistics rather than simply memorizing formulas. I can help students with descriptive statistics, probability, random variables, sampling distributions, confidence intervals, hypothesis testing, regression, correlation, experimental design, and interpreting statistical results.
Trigonometry

Trigonometry

I have a strong background in trigonometry through advanced high school and college mathematics. I earned a 5 on the AP Calculus BC exam, a perfect score on the SAT Math section and PSAT Math, completed Linear Algebra in high school, and graduated from a Governor's STEM program with a 4.7 GPA. I am currently studying Architecture at Virginia Tech, where mathematics continues to play an important role. My goal is to help students gain confidence with trigonometry and prepare for success in their math classes, standardized tests, and future calculus courses.
