For the past few years, I have been tutoring after school a few days a week at the school where I currently teach, and I love it. Nothing is more rewarding to a me than when a child who is struggling with a math topic finally gets it. That is when I feel like I have succeeded.
My goal as a math tutor is to help children better understand the topics they are learning while at the same time helping them appreciate the math around them in their everyday lives. I know a lot of students who do not like math, stress and struggle because they don't understand it. If I can help educe that stress, children can sometimes learn to appreciate math and will actually start doing better in the course.
