I am a licensed teacher in Virginia. I have been teaching General and Special education students for 15 years. My experience includes working in the public and private schools as well as homeschooling other families’ children.

Licensed special Ed. Teacher. I have worked with many children in and out of the classroom that are ADD/ADHD. Each child is unique on the amount of breaks they need, hands-on learning, listening. Occupational therapists have provided me with good tools to help them work better (balls to sit on, bubble mats on chairs, stress balls etc.). Some of these techniques work better for some than others. Motivation and determining what a child likes has helped me in the past.

I am a licensed special ed teacher with a lot of experience. I have spent many years teaching children on the spectrum, which includes verbal and non-verbal students. I have had great success teaching them with a wide variation of materials, depending on what works for them. I am also trained ABA, verbal and foundations.

I have taught Va. standards as well as other states common core standards. I have used different homeschooling programs which are geared to common core standards. The standards for either choice can be closely linked and taught to meet the requirements.

I have used the Calvert Homeschooling curriculum several times. Last year, I used it for a child in 4th grade. I also created my own lesson plans to supplement.

I am a licensed special education teacher. I have taught many special needs children, all with varying disabilities. These disabilities have included Autism, Intellectually Disabled, Learning Disabled, and severely handicapped. I have worked well with these children by learning their best ways of learning.
