I have an Associate of Applied Science degree in Computer Drafting and Design and over 15 years of professional experience using AutoCAD in the audiovisual integration industry. My background includes extensive 2D drafting, technical drawing production, CAD standards, drawing organization, and documentation. In my current role as a Senior Drafter and CAD Manager, I combine hands-on drafting expertise with responsibilities that include supporting engineers and helping team members improve their CAD skills and workflows.

Throughout my career, I have trained engineers on how to use AutoCAD, helping them understand the software and apply it to their work. This experience has taught me the importance of adapting explanations to a person's existing knowledge and breaking unfamiliar concepts into manageable steps. My teaching approach is practical and hands-on, using demonstrations and guided exercises to help students understand commands, develop good drafting habits, and gain confidence using the software.

I would be particularly well suited to tutoring beginners and students who want to build a strong foundation in 2D AutoCAD. I can provide instruction in basic drawing and editing commands, layers, dimensions, annotation, drawing organization, and plotting. My goal is to help students move beyond simply memorizing commands and develop a genuine understanding of how to use AutoCAD effectively and accurately. I bring real-world industry experience to my instruction and can help students develop practical skills that will serve them in their education and future careers.
