Hello, Families!
After graduating from George Mason University in 2007, I entered the field of education, completing my student teaching at Robinson Secondary School and earning my M.Ed. in 2011. Around that time, my wife and I started a family, and I entered the corporate world, where I eventually was promoted to a regional manager position at a Fortune 100 company. After 10 years of growing and learning in this space, my heart returned to education, and I began looking for opportunities to serve the greater homeschooling movement. In 2021, I joined the Homeschool Legal Defense Association as an Operations Manager for their online academy. I currently work as both a teacher and manager at Holy Infant of Prague Paideia, where I support homeschooled children of all ages. My current goals are to continue developing as a teacher while finishing my Ph.D. in Education.
My teaching approach can be described as eclectic but informed by classical methodologies. I am a skilled writing teacher capable of engaging students individually, in small groups, and in the classroom setting. Additionally, I teach History and Literature to students from 6th grade through 12th grade. Finally, while English and History are primary areas of interest and expertise, I can, and have, taught Personal Finance, Logic, and Elementary/Middle School Math.
My tutoring approach is flexible, and I develop lessons based on initial requests and feedback from students and parents. I am here to provide what you need.
I look forward to hearing from you!
Thank you,
-Matt
