I currently teach Advanced Mathematics to students in grades 6–8, including Pre-Algebra, Algebra, and Geometry. My middle school classes have ranged from 10–26 students, giving me extensive experience working with students at different skill levels and learning needs. My educational background includes a B.Tech. in Biomedical Engineering, B.Ed. in Secondary Education, and Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.
I also provide one-on-one mathematics tutoring and currently work with two students, whom I have been tutoring for approximately two months. I have also worked with other students in the past. My approach begins with identifying a student’s strengths, misconceptions, and learning gaps, then tailoring instruction to address those needs. I use guided examples, questioning, visual models, targeted practice, and error analysis. I focus on helping students understand the reasoning behind mathematical concepts rather than simply memorizing procedures, while developing accuracy and effective problem-solving habits.
My primary areas of expertise are Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, fractions, decimals, ratios and proportions, equations, functions, and multi-step problem solving for middle school students. I also support students preparing for NWEA MAP-style mathematics assessments by identifying skill gaps and providing appropriately challenging practice. My goal is to help students strengthen their mathematical foundation, build confidence, improve accuracy, and become independent problem solvers.
