Hello! I’m Logan, a dedicated math and test prep tutor with experience coaching over 75 students across Mathnasium and private students. I specialize in taking complex, intimidating concepts and breaking them down into clear, structured steps that stick.

My Approach & Experience
Having scored in the 98th percentile nationally on standardized math testing, I understand these exams from the inside out, not just the formulas, but the exact places students lose points (careless errors, content gaps, or pacing issues). At Mathnasium, I worked with students from 1st through 10th grade spanning arithmetic to trigonometry, adapting to visual learning styles and individual paces. At my co-op, I teach both math and competitive speech/debate, which has refined my ability to explain a single concept from multiple angles until it truly clicks.

What You Can Expect from Our Sessions:

Diagnostic Accuracy: We pinpoint the exact step where understanding breaks down rather than wasting time re-teaching material your student has already mastered.

Structured Step-by-Step Learning: I break multi-step problems into visual, manageable components to build lasting problem-solving habits and reduce math anxiety.

Targeted Test Prep: Customized pacing, score-tracking, and test-taking strategies tailored to school unit exams or standardized tests (SAT, PSAT, ACT).

Whether your student needs to rebuild foundational algebra, boost an honors math grade, or maximize their standardized test score, I am dedicated to delivering measurable results and building genuine academic confidence.

Approved Subjects

ACT English

ACT English

As a national debate competitor and homeschool co-op teacher, I bring an in-depth mastery of grammar rules, rhetoric, and passage structure to ACT prep. I teach students a rule-based system to quickly eliminate wrong answers and master punctuation and syntax patterns. We focus on recognizing common test traps and improving reading speed across complex passages. This methodical training builds both speed and accuracy for English score improvements.
ACT Math

ACT Math

I coach students to navigate the rapid pacing of ACT Math by mastering quick concept recognition across all 60 questions. Drawing from my background as a top standardized test scorer and as both a Mathnasium and a private tutor, I teach efficient shortcuts for advanced algebra, geometry, and trigonometry. We systematically analyze practice tests to fix recurring mistakes and streamline problem-solving workflows. Students leave sessions equipped with time-management systems that maximize point potential.
Algebra 1

Algebra 1

Having tutored over 75 students at Mathnasium, I specialize in identifying and repairing foundational breakdowns in Algebra 1. I break down linear equations, graphing, and multi-step word problems into structured, visual steps. My teaching methodology replaces rote memorization with true conceptual understanding so concepts actually stick. This approach builds lasting mathematical intuition and prepares students for advanced high school coursework.
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

I help students navigate complex Algebra 2 topics including quadratics, logarithmic functions, and polynomial transformations. Drawing on my extensive tutoring experience, I provide clear visual frameworks for multi-step problem-solving. I systematically address lingering Algebra 1 gaps that often prevent mastery in higher-level coursework. Students gain the confidence and structured study habits required to excel in honors-level math.
Elementary (K-6th)

Elementary (K-6th)

I have extensive experience tutoring elementary-age students in math, science, and language arts, building strong foundational skills through patient, individualized instruction. I currently teach math at Mathnasium and have worked with students across a wide range of learning styles, including students with ADHD and dyslexia. I focus on making core concepts concrete and engaging for young learners, adapting my approach based on how each child learns best. I'm comfortable creating a structured but encouraging environment, whether reviewing math facts, building reading comprehension, or introducing early science concepts.
Elementary Math

Elementary Math

At Mathnasium, I spent over a year and a half helping elementary and middle grade learners build rock-solid number sense and arithmetic fluency. I tailor my teaching style to visual and hands-on approaches, keeping lessons engaging and easy to follow. We focus on explanations from as many different angles as needed until foundational math concepts truly click for the student. My goal is to eliminate early math anxiety and instill a lifelong enjoyment of problem-solving.
GRE

GRE

GRE Quantitative success relies on sharp algebraic logic, numerical speed, and smart problem-solving strategies rather than advanced calculus. As a 98th-percentile test scorer, I help adult learners quickly refresh core high school math fundamentals and geometry rules. We focus heavily on quantitative comparison tactics, fast estimation techniques, and efficient pacing to maximize scores under timed conditions. Lessons are customized to target your specific score goals and eliminate test-day stress.
Prealgebra

Prealgebra

Building strong numerical intuition in Prealgebra is essential for long-term success in middle and high school math. With experience tutoring over 75 students across all grades, including more than 30 middle-grade learners, I simplify fractions, negative numbers, and basic equations. I break complex instructions down into accessible visual models tailored to individual learning paces. This focused guidance transforms confusion into clear mastery and builds lasting academic confidence.
PSAT

PSAT

As a 98th-percentile scorer, I use the PSAT as an essential diagnostic tool to establish strong high school math fundamentals early. I have worked with over 75 students across several Math and English settings to identify core algebra and geometry weaknesses. Sessions focus on developing efficient problem-solving habits and test-taking speed tailored to national exam standards. This early preparation ensures students enter official SAT prep with proven confidence and momentum.
SAT Math

SAT Math

Having scored in the 98th percentile nationally, I coach students on the exact content patterns and pacing strategies needed to master SAT Math. Through my experience at Mathnasium and independent tutoring, I run targeted diagnostics to uncover whether score loss stems from content gaps, pacing, or execution errors. I guide students step-by-step through high-yield problem sets and official exam questions to build consistency under pressure. My structured approach helps students reduce test anxiety while achieving measurable score gains.

Great Start with SAT Math

We've only had two sessions with Logan so far, but we're already very pleased with the experience. Logan has taken the time to understand our son's learning style and adjusts his teaching approach to meet his needs. He's patient, encouraging, and explains math concepts in a way that makes them easier for our son to understand. He's also helping our son prepare for the SAT by focusing on building a strong foundation and increasing his confidence. We appreciate his thoughtful approach and look forward to continuing to work with him. Based on our experience so far, we would definitely recommend Logan.
