I am pursuing my undergraduate at The College of William and Mary. My major is in Psychology with a minor in music. I have previously tutored during the COVID years as well as throughout the past couple years with the primary age range being 5 to 14.
The typical format of my tutoring includes an initial meeting of about an hour where we discuss specific areas the parent and child would like to be improved upon. I will also use the time to introduce myself and explain more in depth my style of tutoring. After that, I typically do 2 meetings each week that last approximately 2 hours each. Here we work on material either from the children's classes or I can generate practice problems. I am also a big advocate of providing extra exercises or "homework" for the children to complete between sessions.
In terms of my specific areas of strength, I am strong at math, specifically elementary math all the way to calculus. I also enjoy helping out with English or learning vocabulary. In addition, I can teach music, especially rhythm, reading sheet music in treble and base clef, as well as beginner piano instruction. For older children, with the high school range, I can teach intro statistics as well as college prep tools.
I am flexible on the duration and frequency of each tutoring session, that being said I do appointment primarily online.
