I'm Angela, a Georgetown medical student currently taking a gap year. I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Biology and have successfully passed USMLE Step 1, scoring 516 on the MCAT. Throughout my academic journey, I've realized that the most impactful learning experiences were shaped by mentors who could break down complex concepts and create an environment where asking questions felt encouraged, not intimidating. Those are the principles I bring to every tutoring session.

My approach focuses on building a strong conceptual foundation, then applying that knowledge through active practice. I believe the MCAT and Step 1 aren't just tests of memorization—they require critical thinking to discern what the question is actually asking, the ability to weed out the fluff and obtain the critical information needed to eliminate wrong answer choices. I work with students to develop effective study strategies, identify their weak areas, and build the confidence needed to tackle these challenging exams. Each session is tailored to the individual student's learning style and goals.

I have three semesters of experience as a Teaching Assistant at Georgetown University, where I helped students navigate difficult biology coursework and exam preparation. Additionally, I've volunteered as a tutor for underprivileged children in D.C., which taught me the importance of patience, adaptability, and meeting students where they are.
