Hi, I’m Rebecca! I graduated magna cum laude from the University of Chicago with a major in Biology and a minor in Neuroscience. I’m a licensed EMT and currently applying to medical schools. My strong academic background in the sciences has provided me with a solid foundation, which I’ve applied in various practical settings.
During college, I served as an Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) Instructor, where I taught emergency medical response skills to UChicago students. Leading late-night classes, I had to create engaging methods to keep students focused after long days, which helped me realize the importance of making learning fun and relatable. Connecting with students on a personal level was key to ensuring that they could absorb complex concepts and stay motivated.
Beyond my academic and medical teaching experience, I’ve also coached field hockey and lacrosse, which gave me valuable experience working with younger students. As a coach, I focused on understanding each player's learning style and needs, a skill I’ve brought into my teaching approach. Whether on the field or in the classroom, I prioritize adapting to the unique needs of each student to help them gain confidence and mastery in challenging subjects.
With this diverse teaching experience, I’m excited to help students excel in biology, chemistry, math, physics, and test prep by creating a supportive and engaging learning environment.
