I'm an international relations professional with 10+ years of working and traveling overseas. Teaching and work experience in Asia, the Middle East and Europe. My career started teaching English as a Second Language in East Java, Indonesia. Shortly thereafter, I worked for the Fulbright Program in the Netherlands on a summer internship. I followed my work in the Netherlands with a Master's in International Relations in Dublin, Ireland.
After my studies, I worked for the US State Department as a government contractor in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Nigeria. Most recently, I have taught within the Honors and International Baccalaureate program in the Washington, D.C. suburbs - my courses include Honors US Government, Pre-IB US Government, and Women's History.
My teaching approach focuses on making the content relatable and engaging to my students. I fill many of my lessons with personal anecdotes from my international work experience. I also enjoy helping students find their niche interests within these fields and how they can find international work opportunities after their studies.
