I have a Bachelors degree in Computer Science from Virginia Tech, where I took classes in Java, C, Python, and HTML/CSS and JavaScript, and I am currently a Graduate Teaching Assistant for undergraduate sociology courses, where I primarily use R when coding. I have worked for two summers as a programming camp counselor teaching Java and JavaScript to children as young as age 6, and I have helped friends through programming assignments through college and into graduate school.

When your code doesn’t work and you can’t figure out why, it is easy to feel like you need to throw your computer out the window. I’ve made a lot of bugs in my code over the years, but that’s made me really good at figuring out how to fix them! I'd love to help you.

I have a bachelor's degree in computer science, have spent two summers working at a summer camp teaching kids and teenagers programming and guiding them through making their own small computer games, and spent much of my young teenager-hood making my own silly little computer games. I have experience using and/or teaching Scratch, Construct 2, Processing (Java/JavaScript), basic Unity, and some Web-based VR (AFrameVR primarily).

Focused, Friendly, and Helpful

Rebecca was an excellent tutor for my first session. She was focused on ensuring I installed R Studio correctly and stayed on topic throughout. Unlike some tutors who tend to go off subject, Rebecca was consistently helpful and friendly, which I really appreciated after a long day of work and graduate school.
