Bio

I'm a CPA with over 10 years of experience in public accounting, looking to share my knowledge and experience to assist students in developing a stronger understanding of accounting theory, at both the beginner and intermediate levels. I graduated from James Madison University with a BBA in accounting in 2010, followed by a M.S. in accounting in 2011. I'm a CPA with over 10 years of experience in public accounting, looking to share my knowledge and experience to assist students in developing a stronger understanding of accounting theory, at both the beginner and intermediate levels. I graduated from James Madison University with a BBA in accounting in 2010, followed by a M.S. in accounting in 2011. I took the CPA exam the summer after my graduation, and managed to pass all 4 sections on my first attempt. Since then, I have been working in the field of public accounting, primarily as an auditor, but recently pivoting to a consulting/advisory role.

As is the case with many professionals in the current COVID environment, I have been working from home for the past 2 years, and I am looking to branch out to supplement my time at home with a new endeavor. Given my proficiency in accounting, I am anxious to share my knowledge and experience to help students succeed in their current studies. Students can expect thorough and comprehensive support from me to gain a foundational understanding of the concepts being taught in their accounting courses, while at the same time receiving instruction that breaks down complicated technical matters in a form that is easy to understand.

I have a very strong technical background in accounting, and continue to work in the field of public accounting serving large and complex corporations. My academic and professional careers have helped me solidify a strong technical foundation, which I believe puts me in a prime position to tutor accounting students to help them better understand the complexities of this science. Additionally, throughout my career I have been responsible for developing and facilitating technical trainings for accounting professionals, as well as teaching junior accountants how to execute on the job through "hands on" teaching, which I'm confident will translate seamlessly into a tutoring role.
