Private, semi-private, and small group lessons allow for individualized instruction which is absent in large group lessons. The lessons are more enjoyable and productive because I can work at a pace that is comfortable for each individual. If a student needs more focused attention on a particular stroke or movement during the lesson, then we have the flexibility to spend more time in those areas. My teaching style involves breaking down the strokes in a way that makes them easy to understand and execute, while also clearly explaining the function of each step in the process. I incorporate the use of fun and innovative drills, games, and match play to strengthen skills.
In addition to being able to set my own hours, I enjoy being able to work outdoors throughout the year. I thoroughly enjoy sharing what I know about tennis to those who are eager to learn. Although I've been teaching tennis for a long time, I still get a thrill out of watching a student learn a new stroke, spin, or strategy to improve their game. Over the years, I've met people from all walks of life, and those experiences have made a positive impact on me both as a teacher and as a person. I look forward to many more years in the teaching profession.
