I'm an Echols Scholar, a program made up of people who "live the life of the mind," at the University of Virginia and a former home schooler. While I'm new to formally tutoring, I am not new to learning or teaching others and am deeply familiar with what it takes to break down complex subjects into manageable chunks, whether for class or a standardized test. As a high schooler, I earned 50 credit hours of college level credit and am on track to complete my undergraduate in just two years. I scored a 33 on my ACT and got 3 700+ scores on SAT II subject tests.

I help students relax and learn to love the material they're learning by showing them its applications within realms of their interest. Furthermore, I teach students to break down complex material into manageable chunks so that they can study effectively on their own, without the anxiety of feeling like they need to go through the entire textbook at once. I recently received a 36 on the ACT Reading section and a 35 on the ACT English section; I know exactly what will be on the test, how it will be asked, and what strategies and tactics you should deploy in both your preparation and on game-day.

I show students how economics is apparent in the world around us by showing them concrete examples in areas of their interest as well as everyday life. I've taken and received As in both macroeconomics and microeconomics, as well as conducted academic research on the foreign exchange translation adjustments of large US companies.
