I tutor a wide variety of subjects, including government and politics, political science, Chinese, public speaking, English, and writing. I am patient with my students and have experience tutoring students of all ages, from high school and college, to adults. I tutor a wide variety of subjects, including government and politics, political science, Chinese, public speaking, English, and writing. I am patient with my students and have experience tutoring students of all ages, from high school and college, to adults. Whether it is a one-on-one lesson to learn a new language, gain knowledge, or improve your subjects in school, I can help! I enjoy encouraging my students and building up their confidence the most. I graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Honors Program with a BA in Political Science, Theatre, and International Studies with a double minor in Chinese and Asian Studies. I received my MA in International Security from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service and work for the US government.

I am fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin. I have traveled, studied, presented, and conducted research in China and Taiwan. I also enjoy helping people learn and improve their Chinese in a cross-cultural way.

In English, I passed both the Collegeboard AP English Language and Composition Exam and the AP English Literature and Composition Exam in high school. Through my Political Science major, MA graduate, and professional experiences, I have extensive training in formal writing, research, and more. I also do editing, proofreading, and provide suggestions on papers. Just message me for details!

I have studied in Beijing, China, and Tainan, Taiwan in intensive Chinese language programs, in addition to 4+ years of formal university-level Chinese language and culture education. I now maintain language proficiency as a professional requirement. I am also fluent in Cantonese (Chinese). My minors in undergraduate studies were Chinese and Asian Studies. I understand the difficulties of learning a new language and am enthusiastic about teaching Chinese in a cross-cultural, engaging way.

I have tutored and successfully helped many students prepare for the College Board's AP Government and Politics Exam. Additionally, I have volunteered for many years as a staff member for the American Legion Auxiliary's Texas Girls State, an annual week-long civic engagement and leadership development program that educates high school senior girls about government. I believe that government and politics and learning about civic duty are more important than most people realize. I am passionate about government and politics, and nonpartisan education--and I would love to share my passion and knowledge on this subject.

I am passionate about nonpartisan education and would love to help others learn about this subject. I specialize in international politics and national security, but I have broad knowledge and experience in political science through my extensive academic and professional experiences.

I have had formal voice and speech training for theatre and public speaking. I have held many leadership and executive positions in high school and college that required me to speak and/or present in front of many, many people, from small groups to large crowds. I also performed theatre and film monologues, and performed in shows, plays and musicals growing up. I have made many speeches at public events and frequently present at workshops, presentations, and organizational/public events. Additionally, my majors in Political Science and Theatre have helped hone my debate and public speaking skills.

I spent 10 years in public school choirs in the State of Texas, where every student was required to learn and practice sight-reading every week. I also participated in the All-State Choir Auditions in high school, where sight-singing was a portion of the audition. I use solfege and I am more than proficient at reading music and sight-singing.

I studied voice in private lessons for about 10 years and have performed in countless shows and musicals. I was also in choir for more than 10 years through college and competed in the Texas All-State Choir process. I studied my first year in college at the Webster Conservatory of Theatre Arts as a BFA Musical Theatre major before transferring for a more academic-based education. Even before studying at Webster, I studied musical theatre in Houston, Texas with various private voice coaches and teachers. I first studied classical music in conjunction with regular choral training and delved into speech-level singing, musical theatre, and popular voice training in high school where I got into several of the top BFA Musical Theatre programs in the country. I also passed the Collegeboard AP Music Theory Exam before graduating high school, and continued taking music theory classes, private voice, and music lessons at Webster before transferring. I have had several years of formal piano training, and spent a few years leading youth group worship and being part of a worship team at my church in Texas. I am more than proficient at sight-singing and reading music. I love music and enjoying sharing that love to others as well.

I have extensive experience in formal research and writing, with 10+ years of experience tutoring. I hold a BA in Political Science, an MA from Georgetown, and substantive professional experience in research and writing. I also provide paper or essay editing, suggestions, and comments. Anna was very skillful in grasping my daughter's baseline knowledge and guiding her to the next steps towards mastering the AP Government Exam. Anna is upbeat, outgoing and demonstrates genuine interest in supporting her success. I am very thankful she's available while schools are not in session .
