A little about me, math was never my strong suit, and I had previously attempted math 171, pre-calculus algebra, twice before dropping. The third time, I had Andi help me. He does a great job of helping you to understand the material. In fact, he doesn't want you to memorize things, he wants your understanding. This is good, as understanding what problems mean is the best way to understanding. I was able to pass the class with a B, something I wouldn't have been able to do on my own. I highly recommend Andi for anyone completely lost in math.

So helpful - confidence has skyrocketed
My daughter has met with Andy just a few times to work i geometry and trig. She said that she felt really confident on her last test which is a major change. Her confidence is a full 180 from where it was before and Andy saved me from having to spend hours re-learning trig after 30+ years off. He is really good at explaining and simplifying concepts and he’s done wonders for my daughter’s confidence.

Extremely knowledgeable and helpful
Andy was very involved in my daughter’s learning of the material. He asked for handouts/homework in advance, so he was very prepared to give a very productive lesson. In the session my daughter felt that he took initiative to cover everything she needed to know about the topic. Went over parts of chapter 2 and aided me in better understanding of the material, taking his time to go step-by-step on how the problem works. He also makes sure to check on me to make sure I am not lost in the material every time we finish a section of the book.

Great HS math/science tutor
Andy has been tutoring my daughter in physics for the second part of this quarter. It went so well that she also asked him to add a session to review for her algebra final. Without having worked with her on this subject previously, he picked up with the material she brought home and worked through it steadily so she felt comfortable going into the test. She feels that she did well and we will roll into SAT prep with Andy over the summer - he has really made a wonderful change in her understanding of the material, as well as in her confidence, which is very important for her.
