With two bachelor’s degrees—one in Aerospace Engineering and another in Mathematics—and a master’s in Systems and Engineering Management, you could say I’ve spent a fair amount of time learning how to learn. After working in the aerospace industry for four years (actual rocket science!), I’ve recently shifted gears to build my own business. But no matter what I’ve been doing professionally, one thing has remained constant: I’ve been tutoring for over a decade, helping students of all ages tackle everything from elementary to college-level math, English essays to standardized test prep, and even the occasional backhand on the tennis court.
My teaching experience is a bit like a patchwork quilt—stitched together from one-on-one sessions, classroom environments, volunteer gigs, and informal “my-cousin-needs-help” scenarios. I’ve worked with kindergartners discovering their first math facts, high schoolers mastering AP exams, and college students braving general chemistry. Regardless of age or subject, my tutoring approach is centered on one core belief: everyone is smart, we just all learn differently. My job is to figure out *your* learning language—whether that means using real-life examples, slowing things down, or laughing through the hard stuff. If you're a younger student, we can take time to build trust; or if you're ready to dive in, I’ll bring the snorkel.
A bit about me outside the day-job realm: I live in VA with my partner (who I adore), a dog and cat (both of which I’m ironically allergic to), and an army of impulse-purchase garden gnomes. I’m a city-loving, board-game-hoarding, squirrel-fighting gardener who believes every student deserves a learning experience that feels not just effective, but genuinely fun. If you're looking for a tutor who brings both experience and a human touch (plus maybe a few terrible puns), I’d be thrilled to help you grow.
