I am an active clarinetist and educator in the Northern Virginia and Metro DC area. I received my bachelor’s degree in music education and performance from the Crane School of Music, master’s degree from Pennsylvania State University, and doctorate from George Mason University. I have taught at local academies and universities in addition to running a private clarinet studio for almost 10 years to students from the beginner level through collegiate. My teaching experience has been in one on one lessons, group lessons, and classroom teaching. Additionally, I had volunteer experience teaching clarinet and music education to students in Moshi, Tanzania where English is the second language.
Prior to an academic advising role at Peabody Institute at Johns Hopkins University, I taught courses at George Mason University in Aural Skills (ear training), Fundamentals of Music, and Popular Music in America. I have taught clarinet lessons at both George Mason, George Mason Music Academy, and Pennsylvania State University, and additional courses in woodwind methods for music education students.
