Hi! I'm Tim, an experienced professional geologist and history nerd making a career transition from the corporate world to education. I have undergraduate degrees in geology and history, a master's degree in geosciences, and 24 years' experience as a professional geologist. I come from a family of educators and value the transformative power of learning and self-improvement. My goal as a tutor is to spark curiosity, encourage critical thinking, and inspire an understanding of how to learn that becomes a habit. I want students to see how much fun it can be understanding the world in a way that connects with their own experiences and that they can apply immediately to achieve their goals. I am highly focused on conversation-focused and collaborative ways to improve learning and am not ego driven when seeking results for you. I am open to suggestions and understand that improvement must come from your desire to learn. It's my job to find the approach that helps you do that.
