I’m Ayleen! I graduated magna cum laude from Tufts University with a BA in International Relations and a minor in English. My goal is to make sure that our tutoring process is as confidence-building as possible so that you feel supported to become a stronger writer at your own pace!

I have over four years of experience providing one-on-one tutoring in various aspects of the writing process. I served as a Head Fellow at Tufts University’s Writing Fellows program where I worked one-on-one with students to address struggles such as thesis development or essay structure. In addition to academic writing, I’m an experienced creative writer and poet, having received regional recondition and been published in a variety of creative writing journals.
I’ve worked with students from a variety of cultures, educational levels, and ages, ranging from middle school to college and professional levels. I’m happy to work with you regardless of your experience to create writing that you are proud of, whether that be a college application essay, an academic paper, or a creative writing piece.

Beyond writing, I bring over 11 years of experience in public speaking and coaching. I have three years of experience as a competitor with the second-ranked college mock trial team in the US. I also have nine years of experience with Model UN, having competed at the middle school through college levels. I’ve competed at national and international MUN competitions in the US, Sweden, and Hungary.
I have been recognized regionally and internationally for my public speaking skills, with recognition from regional mock trial tournaments and public speaking competitions. Public speaking is challenging (believe me, I know!) but I’ll work with you to address your specific concerns, like managing anxiety or improving delivery.

My tutoring approach is personalized and student-centered. I take the time to understand your unique goals and challenges so that our sessions are tailored to your needs. I look forward to working with you!

Knwledgable and welcoming tutor

The session with Ayleen went terrific. I was concerned about the first class, but her approach and good guidance gave me security with each exercise. The feedback she gave me was meaningful output that motivated me to listen and try to put it into practice for the following exercise. The way she teaches the class brings so much confidence and makes me feel comfortable, which is essential due to my panic speaking in front of people. I will continue working with her; I recommend her 100%; she is a quality tutor who can make an impact on people and walk you through success.

Excellent!

Ayleen goes the extra mile to be prepared with specific exercises, recommendations, and strategies for the lesson. She is an excellent fit for my college-bound son who is trying to improve his verbal presentation skills
