Hi! I’m Olivia, and I’m excited to offer tutoring services for students of all ages. I graduated with a B.A. in English from the College of William & Mary and have over three years of experience working as a private tutor. My expertise spans a range of subjects, but I specialize in advanced tutoring for English and essay writing, including help with cover letters and college essays. Additionally, I provide specialized tutoring for students with learning disabilities, including Autism, ADHD, and dyslexia. I have logged 300+ hours working with students who face these challenges and enjoy using personalized strategies to support their unique learning needs.

I believe in the power of teaching students how to learn on their own, which is why my tutoring approach emphasizes self-reliance. While I am committed to helping students grasp new concepts and solve problems, my ultimate goal is to teach them how to teach themselves. I want my students to feel confident in their ability to identify mistakes and correct them independently. This is particularly important when working with children, as they often become reliant on external guidance. By encouraging them to think critically and problem-solve on their own, I help them develop the skills needed for lifelong learning.

In my time tutoring students from ages 6 to 50, including non-native English speakers, I’ve seen firsthand how empowering students to be independent thinkers leads to greater comprehension and overall success. I’m passionate about helping students become self-sufficient learners, and I look forward to the opportunity to work with you!
