I grew up in Northern Virginia and am now studying Finance at Indiana University's Kelley School of Business. Going out of state for college is a big financial commitment, and my parents have left it to me to take responsibility for paying for my education. I wanted to find a way to earn money that also meant something to me, which is what brought me back to tutoring. Teaching has been a part of my life for years, and it is something I have always genuinely enjoyed.

My experience started in high school when I co-founded Brillio Learning, a nonprofit focused on making STEM education more accessible. Over four years, we reached more than 1,000 students across the U.S. and India. In the early days, I taught many of the classes myself, working with younger students on coding, Python, and basic computer science. I also volunteered as a lead instructor teaching Scratch and computer science fundamentals to underserved children. One experience that has always stayed with me was visiting a small school in a village in India and teaching students the basics of Python. We started with very simple ideas and worked our way up together. Seeing a student go from being completely confused to finally getting it is still one of my favorite feelings.

Those experiences shaped the way I teach today. I try to be patient, break difficult ideas into smaller pieces, and never make a student feel bad for asking a question. I graduated from Lightridge High School with an Advanced Diploma, a 3.82 GPA, and a 1500 SAT score, and am now pursuing my BSB in Finance at Kelley. I also have experience with Python, AI, data analysis, economics, and finance. More than anything, I want my students to leave a session feeling a little more confident than when they came in.
