Hello, and welcome! My name is Jessie, and I’m a passionate educator with 8 years of diverse teaching experience and a deep commitment to helping students succeed.
With a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and teaching licenses in Elementary and Secondary education, I began my career as a student teacher in 2nd grade before moving into a full-time 5th-grade teaching role, which I held for 6 years. This experience taught me how to support students academically and emotionally during critical years of their growth.
Later, as a substitute teacher, I had the opportunity to teach kindergarten through 9th grade. This role allowed me to adapt my teaching to a variety of ages and learning needs, giving me valuable insight into each stage of a student's journey. I also work with adult learners striving to complete their GED or high school credits, which has been incredibly rewarding.
In addition, I’ve led school programs designed to support students whose first language isn’t English, helping them to feel more comfortable and confident in their studies. I know how important it is to adapt lessons for English Language Learners and make learning accessible and enjoyable.
My teaching style is interactive, flexible, and creative. I believe learning should be meaningful and fun, and I love helping students of all ages see that they’re capable of doing hard things. Whether you're a parent looking for a tutor for your child or an adult finishing high school, I’d be honored to support you on your educational journey. Let’s work together to make each step forward a celebration!
