Hello everyone, I'm Holly!

I have been tutoring American Sign Language since 2021 and, as of February 2025, I am a certified Novice Interpreter for the state of Utah.

I have been studying American Sign Language since 2013 and have a Bachelors Degree in Deaf Studies with a minor in Interpreting. I have had the opportunity to work under many Deaf college professors during my ASL education, as well as alongside them as a Teacher's Assistant at both the High School and College levels. I have developed an extensive vocabulary that includes many regional variations across America and have a passion for linguistics and entomology.
I love working with those who are new to ASL as I hope to imbue my passion for the language and culture to those just starting out. We can work together to make sure you understand the importance of the Deaf community, increase levels of comprehension and sign replication, and understand the unique linguistic markers of the language. I look forward to helping increase your confidence with ASL!

I also accept students who are hoping to practice interpreting skills or looking to pass proficiency exams such as the EIPA, ASLPI, or UIP.

I work with all ages.

Thorough and interested!

We met with me having a very specific goal. She researched what I was interested in learning and was well-prepared. She also listened to my thoughts about what I envisioned. She was thorough, patient, and so sweet. Looking forward to continuing to work with her.

Helpful and fluent

I like how Holly was patient as I was signing voice off for the first time in a while. It was great to get back into using the language I thought I had mostly forgotten.

What a wonderful experience!

My daughter was giving a presentation so we wanted someone to talk through the ins and outs of public speaking and to help her plan. We had several lessons with Holly and each one had my kiddo feeling more confident and prepared. She was patient and clearly mapped out how to prepare. She took notes during the lesson and typed them up for my kiddo to use. The speech was a success and my daughter enjoyed her experience quite a bit! We would continue to use Holly for future lessons.

Sign Language

She help me feels good about myself and the lessons, since I like doing sign language choir, but need to know more. Help me from the start to do alphabets, colors, numbers, introduce myself, I hope to learned more to help me communicate and later on pursue this as a career to help deaf people who wants to know what’s going on.
