Hi! I am Barbara. I have been a High School Spanish teacher for the past 15 years teaching at all levels of Spanish. I got my Translation and Interpretation from Brigham Young University and went on to get my Master's degree from FUNIBER, Iberoamerican University Foundation in Puerto Rico. I believe that besides knowing the language, it is important to immerse yourself in the culture of a country. I am a world traveler. I have been doing service projects to the countries of Ecuador, Guatemala, Perú, Chile. I have extensive experience leading groups to Spain for study trips. I have prepared students to take the AP exams for the past six years with a fantastic results. I conduct all my classes in the target language and prepare a personalized curriculum based on preferences and proficiency.
During the past year, I have been teaching in a hybrid model to students. Keeping students engaged and participating is my goal and find opportunities to use the language in our every day life. I pay special attention to students who may fall behind to ensure success and learning.
Even though, I may not be in a physical class right now, I don't want to stop teaching and tutoring is the perfect environment to continue teaching .
