What can I do for you?

Undergraduates:

My tutoring services are broad. I can assist students in the creation of outlines, help guide essays and direct students in research papers. I help students in the idea phase and assist students who need to move from an idea into an outline. I also help students by establishing a research plan in order to complete a research paper by a specific deadline. I edit papers and help with paragraph structure, overall essay organization and thesis statements.

Graduate students:

I can help graduate students make sense of the thesis process and assist in thesis editing and construction. I can assist in the early phases of developing a research question and hypothesis, as well as edit papers already underway. I am competent in quantitative and qualitative methods, as well as issues of reliability and validity.

How do I help people?

There is no one perfect method for tutoring and editing. When I help people with papers, I usually start by reading the professor's prompt. Then, I review the paper or listen to the idea. I usually get information about what the student would like to accomplish and perform a quick assessment of the writing deficits (when possible). FInally, I provide an oral overview of what I can do to help the student accomplish his or her goals within an estimated time period.
