I hold a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Utah (completed August 2025) with focused coursework in data science, applied statistics, probability, and statistical inference. Since May 2024, I have worked as a Math Tutor at the University of Utah Math Center, where I lead 20–30 one-on-one and small-group sessions weekly. My tutoring spans precalculus and calculus through linear algebra and introductory statistics/data-science topics; I also support coursework-level probability and statistical inference. In addition to the tutoring role, I served as a Learning Assistant and Math Grader for large-enrollment courses, which gave me experience creating rubrics, short assessments, and instructor-facing documentation that improved classroom consistency and learning outcomes.

My teaching approach starts with a short diagnostic to identify gaps, then uses scaffolded, bite-sized steps and guided practice to build understanding and confidence. I adapt explanations to each student’s learning style: visual worked examples, stepwise problem solving, and Socratic questioning to encourage independent reasoning. I keep detailed session notes and progress logs, track recurring misconceptions, and provide instructors with concise summaries when appropriate. I have experience tutoring college-aged learners in both in-person and online settings, and I’m comfortable using interactive whiteboards, screen-sharing, and digital annotations for remote sessions. My background in reproducible data analysis and producing clear written feedback also helps when guiding students on projects, data interpretation, and structured writing for technical assignments.
