Hello, my name is Mark and I love working with students. I have been a Math teacher for the past 6 years and currently I teach 7th-9th grade. My teaching degree is in Secondary Mathematics Education from Western Governors University. I also have an undergrad in Finance and a MBA, both from Westminster University. Teaching is my second career and has become my passion in life and tutoring is a way to expand the group of people I am lucky enough to work with. It is my goal to increase the core knowledge and confidence in math for every student I work with. I strive to make learning math fun and accessible for everyone! I bring a sense of calmness to my tutoring and strive to make each student I work with both comfortable with me as well as comfortable with the material.
My education degree covers every level of secondary math (every level through high school), with my core expertise being 7th-10th grades. With prior notice I am available to tutor all levels of high school math as well as college level courses through 1050. I use a hands on approach to both teaching and tutoring. The more you are able to practice problems with my guidance and feedback, the more successful each student will be.
When I am not working you can find me enjoying the outdoors. I love hiking, kayaking, traveling and photography.
