Hi! My name is Threya and I am a college student at the University of Utah pursuing law.

In high school, I founded an organization that tutored elementary and middle school students. Apart from tutoring, my role within this organization was to craft curriculums that were individually personalized to each student. I strongly emphasized curating each curriculum in a personalized manner because I believe that each student learns and prospers in different ways. Additionally, while tutoring, I often incorporated small checks on the students' understandings, rather than just droning through content, so that I could ensure that students were actually benefiting from the tutoring sessions!

I also worked at Skyhawks Sports Academy, where I trained young children (aged 4-12) in various sports such as tennis and track and field. As someone who competitively ran track and played tennis for several years, I knew exactly how to structure the training sessions. Under my instruction, the children that I worked with participated in various drills designed to foster skill in their chosen sports and they also gained valuable insight into their sport's intricacies (how it is played, rules, tips, etc.), despite their young age and lack of prior experience.

Over the past years, I have also given three TEDx Talks. Giving these talks equipped me with very unique experiences in writing and public speaking, which have proven useful in my teaching, whether it be in subjects such as writing and public speaking, or any other.

Overall, I have 4+ years of tutoring experience, with my participation in the youth-led tutoring organization as well as my work at Skyhawks Sports Academy. I believe that I am well-suited to be a tutor for Wyzant and am excited to pursue my love for teaching.
