I have successfully taught Introduction to DSLR Photography, Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop in the Continuing Education Program of the Canyons School District for nearly three years. My objective is to challenge the student in each class and help them to evaluate and measure their progress. I show and then help them do the task at hand.
Among my greatest joys is the value I receive in watching students grasp a new concept and be able to not only use it, but to expand their ability to create with it. That creative process builds self-esteem and promotes success no matter what the field. And the icing on the cake is what I learn in the process of working with my students.
As a freelance photographer and a member of the Salt Lake Photographic Print Society for some twelve years, I regularly produce digital photographic artwork that is printed, framed and displayed in galleries. I use Lightroom and Photoshop to do all of my own post-processing and I print my own art pieces.
I would love to help you become creative with those same tools.
My passion for making learning fun and interacting with students in the learning process helps students progress through the process more rapidly. When the student can see the results of the applied steps, he or she will want to delve more deeply into the process and learn even more about the tools. And this leads to improved grades at all levels.
Call me today and let's get your understanding of how and why your camera or your post processing program can help you improve what you produce. And that will help you get your grades up to where you want them. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have taught digital photography in the continuing education program for nearly three years.
I produce fine art photography that has shown in gallery shows since 2005.
I make the functions of the camera simple to understand so the student can control more closely the outcome of the images taken.
I thrive on helping students capture their vision on digital media and in print.
My students who practice the concepts I teach improve their photography.
I make every effort to help them understand the concept, yet they must practice in order to develop the skills.
