I hold a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, and genetics sits right at the core of my training. I earned a top grade in my genetics coursework and use its concepts constantly through my background in molecular biology and biochemistry. I'm comfortable across the topics students find trickiest, including Mendelian and non-Mendelian inheritance, meiosis and recombination, gene expression and regulation, mutations, and reading genetics problems and pedigrees. My strength is connecting genetics to the underlying molecular biology, so instead of memorizing rules, students understand why inheritance and gene expression actually work the way they do. I focus on patient, step-by-step guidance and worked problems to help each student build confidence and solve the next problem on their own.
