I’ve always enjoyed helping people learn, especially in subjects that can initially feel overwhelming. After recently graduating with a science degree and scoring well on the DAT, I understand both the pressure and discipline that come with balancing difficult coursework and preparing for high-stakes exams. Throughout college, I found that the most effective studying came from having a clear plan, staying consistent, and learning how to approach challenging material with confidence instead of frustration. I’m especially strong in Biology, Reading Comprehension, and Organic Chemistry, and I enjoy helping students simplify complex topics into something manageable and achievable. My goal is to help students feel supported, motivated, and genuinely confident walking into test day.
In addition to my own academic experience, I have several years of teaching and tutoring experience. I served as a Chemistry Teaching Assistant, where I taught laboratory procedures, guided students through difficult concepts, and helped them build confidence in problem-solving. I was later selected to help train new teaching assistants because of my communication and leadership skills. I have also informally tutored peers in chemistry and anatomy, helping classmates break down complex material into concepts that actually make sense. Beyond science tutoring, I have spent two years teaching computer skills classes, which strengthened my ability to explain topics clearly, adapt to different learning styles, and keep students engaged.
My tutoring approach is centered around consistency, active practice, and long-term growth. I believe students learn best by working through problems regularly and building strong habits over time, not by cramming information the night before an exam. Because of this, my lessons include guided practice, strategy development, and homework assignments designed to reinforce what we cover during sessions. I also aim to empower students to become independent learners.
